(this is for Jeff who always thinks I put up embarrassing pictures of him)
I saw this awesome idea on my friend Kristi’s blog and thought it would be fun (I couldn’t stop laughing at all her memories) So if you would be so kind, please leave a memory you have of me. (try and be nice)
1. Add a comment on my blog. Leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Yep, that’s Lincoln’s belly full of watermelon.
Speaking of watermelon, if you like it as much as we do, check out this recipie for grilled watermelon. I made some tonight and it was very delicious. Chemenn looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I was going to make grilled watermelon. But what does she know about watermelon, she doesn’t even put salt on hers. When she tried it, though, she admitted it was pretty darn good. Showed her.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts + Bacon + Cheeseburgers = 100% Pure Awesome
Now I know what to serve at the Chugg Family 4th of July Barbecue.
Pretty sure these things are illegal in at least a half dozen blue states. Just had to knock those pictures of me down to the second post.
[Found here, via Instapundit]
UPDATE: Since posting this, the Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburger has become incredibly popular - so popular, in fact, that presidential candidate Barack Obama has made it the centerpiece to his new and improved campaign platform. Check out his new slogan:
Better than his last slogan…

Hi. This is Jeff. This is NOT Chemenn. She wanted me to make sure that I made that clear because she doesn’t want to be held responsible for any of the following content.
I’ve been having some fun with photoshop and just wanted to show everybody what I’m doing instead of studying for the bar. I’m sure many of you will want some of these images full-size to use as desktop background and, perhaps, to make poster sized prints to display in your house. If so, just email me and I will send you the full-size image for a nominal fee.*
Here are the some of the originals. You know, to compare.

Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less!

I don’t want to really get in a political discussion on my blog. I love politics, but realized quickly that’s a pretty hot topic and some people get heated quickly about it. (I’m not saying I’m not one of those people) If you would like to debate and have a strong opinion about it, please visit Jason’s blog. But I do think that most everyone can agree on lowering gas prices. I for one am getting pretty tired of paying almost 50 bucks to feel up my tiny Toyota Corolla. I mean…c’mon. So Democrat or Republican, Independent or other, I think signing this petition is a really good start to get the attention of our government. Pass it on to others and go ahead and put it on your blogs if you want. Here is the link to the petition. It literally takes 10 seconds to fill out. It’s just your name, email and zip code.

I know Yesterday was Father’s Day, but I wanted to get through the day before I put up a post. Jeff actually got one of his father’s day presents 5 days early because I’m really bad with surprises. We got him a new shirt and tie (which Lincoln helped pick out). Pretty standard Father’s Day gift, but for Jeff getting ties is like me getting new shoes. Then Sunday morning we made him french toast and for dinner, steak and potatos! Hubby is easy to please! We finished off with a homemade card that I had Lincoln walk on with stamped feet. It was very messy.
here is Jeff in a nutshell,
J- just
E- educator
F- funny
F- family-oriented
R- respectful
E- ethical
Y- youthful
C- clever
H- humane
U- upholding
G- grounded
G- guardian
so, if you are wondering if I could use one work to describe him, I don’t think I could do it. Jeff has so much patience, energy and love for his son. I am so blessed that I have a husband that takes such good care of us. I couldn’t be more proud of him. I couldn’t be more touched and probably couldn’t be more mushy.
Also when I showed Jeff this post, this is the first thing he thought of…..
June 13, 2008
I haven’t done my Thursday thoughts in a while so you would think I would have a huge list of things to post about. Um….I don’t. Not things that I haven’t already posted about at least. The last couple of days have been interesting. I just got back from Utah and whenever I come back from a trip, I have an adjustment period. No matter where I go I still go through it. Lincoln needs to get back into his regular routine, Jeff needs to go back to work/school/ bar class, and I have to just adjust to not having adult conversation for a while. Lincoln has all of the sudden gotten quite an attitude. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s not. Although I’m well aware of this stage he’s coming to, it still hit me like a ton of bricks. I thought maybe it was a gradual thing……but….. Anyways, that comes to the first thing I’m grateful for.
1. Experienced mothers. Even if it’s just moral support or letting me know I’m doing a good job, I’m grateful for mothers that I can ask and get advice from. Especially mom, my sisters and Melissa. So…I’m extremely thankful for you gals!
2. Dolly Parton! Let me finish before you start scratching your head. Dolly Parton has an organization called the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. She sends every child in Tennessee a book every month until they turn 5. They are really nice books too. That is one thing Lincoln loves to do is sit in mommy or daddy’s lap and look at his books, and turn the pages while we read. Dolly is seriously great. Dollywood is still on my list of things to do.
3. This video. It made me laugh today. Keep watching till the end.
It’s from Disneyland if you didn’t notice.

Life’s Too Short, Eat Dessert First!
Posted by chemenn under Uncategorized | Tags: baby shower, cupcakes |[13] Comments
I love sweets! I love the way they smell, look and of course the way they taste. Unless I go overboard, which I do often. One of my favorite things to do is bake and mostly decorate. I feel kind of silly being so proud of my cupcakes and fruit tarts when I have friends who are pastry chefs and a sister-in-law who takes cake decorating classes. Oh well. I think they are pretty.
A few friends and I decided to throw another friend, Heather a baby shower. She is of course expecting a girl so everything was very pink. I volunteered to do the food.
I wanted to get her something cute instead of my usual gift card so I checked out these diaper cakes that are sold online. Sheesh….Kinda pricey, so I decided to make one myself! Jeff helped me hold all the diapers together and about 1/2 hour later, I had made a diaper cake. It’s frilly and girly. I kind of like it.
Don’t laugh too hard, it was my first try. Below is our party!

Well, not regularly, actually just once and that was this morning. I’m not aiming to look like American Gladiators. Or am I? I didn’t do my Thursday Thoughts and now it’s Saturday, 1:33 in the morning. I don’t know if that happens to be a side affect of Steroids, but I haven’t been up this late for quite awhile. So I decided to tell you all about my stupid shot.
Anyhoo. I had an earache this morning. A pretty bad one, so I thought I better get it checked out before I fly out to Utah next week. I went to a walk in clinic and of course they couldn’t see much. Just a little redness. Great, everyone is going to think I’m a hypochondriac. So they gave me a shot of steroids?? for the pain. The shot hurt worse than my ear and my behind is still sore. Probably would not recommend that. Ugh….I really need to go to bed.

UPDATED: I’m Now Famous In Tokyo!
Posted by chemenn under Uncategorized | Tags: picture, Tokyo |[9] Comments
Not really……
Hey Mom & Dad, I know I didn’t get a law degree, but I did get my picture on a photo booth in Japan 3 miles from the Imperial Palace. Impressed? nah, just kind of funny.
Jeff’s friend David is in Japan and saw this so he took a couple of pictures and emailed them over.
UPDATED: Some people have asked how I got my picture in Tokyo, MSN & the Washington Post. About 6 or 7 years ago, I did a photo shoot for stock photography. It’s not really modeling, at least not fashion modeling. I got a whopping 100 bucks for it and different companies can buy a package with 100 different people’s pictures on it and use them for whatever they want. I’m just glad it hasn’t been anything too embarrassing yet.

Vacation Part 1: Gulf Shores!
Posted by chemenn under vacation | Tags: Alabama, Gulf Shores |[5] Comments
Jeff and I decided we needed to take a break after finals. Jeff obviously needed it more than I did. We headed down to Gulf Shores, Alabama to stay a couple of nights. It was still off season so we got a killer deal on a condo rental. (I highly recommend staying at a condo rather than a motel/hotel) This was the first time for all of us to visit the Gulf of Mexico. We had a blast and of course had so much fun with little man on the beach.
We stumbled upon a yacht dealership while walking around and tried to see if anyone would actually think we were looking to buy one. Not so much. But we talked one of the deck hands into taking a picture of us on one of the “smaller” boats.

This is a picture from the balcony of the condo we stayed at - right above the pool.
One of my favorite shots of Lincoln on the beach.
These were taken on the beach and around the condo area:

Thursday Thoughts!
Posted by chemenn under Armadillos, History, New Orleans, Uncategorized1 Comment
I’m just getting back from a long drive from our trip (pictures coming soon) so my brain is a bit sloshy.
History. History has always been one of my best subjects, at least one of my favorites. Thank goodness for recorded books and pictures. European history is, of course, much older- but there is so much to know and learn in our own country. We went to New Orleans this week and it was more fascinating then I ever imagined it would be. When Jeff and I visit places and learn about the history, I always ask him, “don’t you wish we could just go back in time?” Usually he just shruggs and says “I guess”.
Historians. How amazing that somebody makes this a full time job so that I can learn what I learn.
Armadillos. I had never seen one before. But driving through Alabama I saw 10! Of course they were on thier backs on the side of the road. But I have now seen one. Jeff told me for a split second he thought of getting one and having it stuffed. What the? Probably shouldn’t have said that, Dad will never let that one go. Anyways, they are interesting and I couldn’t help but think what God was thinking when he came up with that one.

A Streetcar Named Desire
Posted by chemenn under Uncategorized | Tags: Marlon Brando, movies, Vivien Leigh |No Comments
While Jeff is doing finals, I usually rent lots of movies. After I put Lincoln down for bed, I usually get pretty bored without Jeff. This is of course when I decide to rent the classics, cause generally Jeff doesn’t like them as much. I decided to rent A Streetcar Named Desire. Mmmmmmmmm. It was a good movie. Interesting. I couldn’t help but be distracted by the thought of what people back in the fifties thought when they saw this movie. I mean….it disturbed me to a point, I wonder how my Grandma reacted. Anyways…I am a huge Vivien Leigh fan so I always wanted to see it. Marlon Brando is a great actor as well. So good in fact, that most of what I have seen him in makes me hate his character. He is that good. You can go HERE if you want to learn more about it, I won’t give away the story too much. It did surprise me, it wasn’t what I thought it would be. Needless to say, I now understand this Seinfeld episode a whole lot more now.
I realize that a lot of you are probably way ahead of me on this.
March 24, 2008

Happy Easter everyone! Today started early for us. Last night we got some eggs and candy for Lincoln….oh who am I kidding, for us, and headed to some friends this morning for an Easter breakfast and egg hunt. Ruby and Lincoln didn’t quite have so much interest in finding them. I justed wanted the pictures. Later we went to church with a sugar high. Later we got together with more friends and had a huge Easter dinner. So….now i’m sitting here staring at this last bit of Lindt bunny and driving Jeff crazy. He just told me if I don’t eat it soon, he will have to put the bunny out of it’s misery. I’ll just see how crazy he gets. And yes….Jeff took the picture of the Lindt bunny below. He also loaded the pictures up on the blog, so I guess he wants all you to see it too. Cause we’re classy like that.
